Henk de Groot
Henk de Groot (1951) studied Dutch Law at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, where he specialised in Private Law. He joined Dorhout as a lawyer in 1976 and in 1982 became a partner in the company.
Henk's main field of expertise is bankruptcy law. He completed the specialist courses in Insolvency Law at the Grotius Academie and Financial Economics at Erasmus University. Henk is regularly appointed as a trustee in bankruptcy cases.
As a lawyer, he mainly assists companies in financial difficulties, and their directors. In addition, he regularly acts as an arbitrator in disputes relating to Company Law.
From 1995 to 1998, Henk was Dean of the Law Society in the Groningen district. Some of his current positions include membership of the Adviescommissie Faillissementswetgeving (Advisory Committee on Bankruptcy Law) of the Dutch Law Society, membership of the General Administrative Body of the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI), membership of the Supervisory Board of Zorggroep Groningen and he is also chairman of Netlaw
